Central Coast Council Upgrades Five Venues, Boosts Local Sports Leagues

Central Coast Council completed new sports amenities buildings at Buff Point and Halekulani Ovals in early 2025 after the NSW Government provided $2.8 million to replace structures that had stood for 44 and 54 years.

These changes arrive as local leagues seek reliable fields and changing rooms for regular competition. The timing aligns with several other venue projects that address long-standing maintenance gaps across the region.

Named sites receiving investment

Work continues at Frost Reserve in Kincumber on a 370-square-metre amenities building scheduled for completion by early 2026. An $11 million indoor multi-purpose sport and recreation centre at Tuggerah is advancing through stage two funding from the NSW Government at the Central Coast Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex. Niagara Park Stadium is in the middle of a separate $2.8 million upgrade focused on accessibility and player facilities, with a target finish date of October 15.

An additional $11 million program is delivering lighting, drainage and irrigation improvements at 16 sportsgrounds to extend playing seasons and reduce weather-related cancellations.

Scale of the works and next steps

The projects together represent more than $27 million in public spending on venues used by community clubs. Central Coast Council records list the specific ovals, reserves and stadiums that have received or are receiving the upgrades.

League administrators and club committees can now check booking availability directly with the council for the updated grounds. Ongoing monitoring of the remaining construction timelines will determine when each site returns to full match-day use.
