Central Coast Upgrades Multiple Sports Venues to Expand Local Playing Capacity

Central Coast Council completed new sports amenities at Buff Point and Halekulani Ovals in early 2025. The buildings replaced structures that had stood for 44 and 54 years and opened in time for the 2025 winter season.

Regional funding supports multiple sites

The $2.8 million NSW Government allocation covered the two ovals while a separate $11 million program upgrades 16 sportsgrounds with new lighting, drainage and irrigation. Niagara Park Stadium is also receiving a $2.8 million accessibility and player-facility upgrade scheduled for completion on October 15. Construction of a 370 square metre amenities building at Frost Reserve in Kincumber remains underway with an early 2026 finish date.

These works sit alongside an approved $11 million indoor multi-purpose centre at Tuggerah that is advancing through stage two funding. Central Coast Council oversees 164 sporting areas that include 74 soccer fields and 28 touch and OzTag fields serving more than 20 codes.
